CAPT Ryan Perry to Relieve RDML Charlie Brown

February 3, 2022
CAPT Perry Nominated for Promotion to RDML
CAPT Ryan Perry to Relieve RDML Charlie Brown

Dear Association Members,

I’m delighted to announce that CAPT Ryan Perry has been nominated for promotion to RDML and will succeed Charlie Brown as the Navy’s Chief of Information. CAPT Perry is currently assigned as the force public affairs officer for the Special Warfare Command in San Diego. CAPT Perry previously served as the Third Fleet PAO, Navy News Desk director, and on staff of the Joint Chiefs of Staff—among other assignments. He is a Naval Academy graduate.

RDML Brown’s three-year tour as CHINFO has gone by extremely quickly. But Charlie hit the ground running and demonstrated his leadership of the public affairs community from Day #1. He has faced some very complex challenges, but he has met them all professionally. I personally know the demands of the job, and RDML Brown has stood tall throughout his tour. He has represented the Navy in an exceptional manner. Needless to say, he has made us all proud.

CAPT Perry will assume his new position with an extraordinary professional and personal reputation. We know he will sustain the momentum that RDML Brown has established during his extremely successful tenure.

Tom Jurkowsky
