The widow of CAPT Bob Sims
The Passing of Mrs. Pat Sims
Dear USNPAA Members:
It is with sadness that I report the death of Mrs. Pat Sims. Pat passed away in July 2022, but we just learned of this unfortunate news.
For those of us PAO ‘oldsters,’ Pat was the wife of the late CAPT Bob Sims. Bob last served on active duty as the deputy CHINFO. For those of us who knew Pat, we will remember her as a gracious and classy lady. She had a passion for architecture and interior decoration. She also loved to wear bright colors. Pat loved everyone and had the knack to make those she met feel very comfortable. She served as a wonderful asset to our community.
Professionally, Pat worked in the Federal government for several agencies. In fact, she met Bob when she worked in a nearby Navy office close to the CHINFO spaces when Bob was in the CHINFO media relations division. The highlight of her career was working in the White House in the Reagan administration. After retiring and leaving the Washington area, she and Bob moved to Tennessee where they published the Crockett Times in Alamo.
Pat was survived by four children; eight siblings and their spouses; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. I sure they all have wonderful memories of Pat.
