The Passing of CAPT Erv Sharp
Dear USNPAA Members,
I am extremely saddened to report the passing of another one of our members—Captain Erv Sharp. Erv passed away in January, and a funeral service for him was held on Saturday in New Bern, North Carolina.
Erv had an incredible love for the Navy. His 40 years of service began as an enlisted man. As a public affairs officer, he had extraordinary talents. Young PAOs gravitated to him for his mentorship and seniors respected him for his wise and sage counsel. Erv was simply one of those officers who helped galvanize the foundation and reputation of the Navy’s public affairs community. He was a rock-solid individual personally and professionally.
An obituary appeared in Saturday’s Washington Post.
Please keep Erv’s wife, Eve, and his many family members in your thoughts and prayers.
