The Passing of CAPT Bill Gengler
Dear Association Members:
I am saddened to report the death of Captain Bill Gengler. Bill passed away on 29 June at the age of 87 at his home in Rancho Murieta, California. He was surrounded by his family.
Bill was the consummate professional who served on active duty for 25 years. I personally remember him when I was a junior officer—very eager to provide direction, guidance and counsel to all of us who worked with him. He was truly one of those fatherly PAOs who helped establish our community’s foundation.
After his retirement from the Navy, Bill went to work for the state of California as a public information officer. Here is a link to Bill’s obituary.
On behalf of the entire Association, I’d like to pass on our deepest condolences to the Gengler family. We are most grateful for Bill’s countless contributions to the Navy and our community.
