My Return--Not My Tax Return But to USNPAA
Dear USNPAA Members,
After a lengthy two-year search for a new president of the USNPAA, we were unable to find a volunteer for the position. I’ve given much thought to the situation and as a result, I have volunteered to step back in and serve in the role.
My decision was based on one reason—my belief that the Navy’s public affairs community is special and unique. I’ve always felt that there is not another Navy community that measures up to ours in terms of how we work together and how we build special bonds with each other professionally and personally.
As many of you know, I served for five years as the USNPAA president and was relieved by Dave Albritton. Dave’s family unfortunately faced many health issues, and he felt it was best if he stepped down from his role to focus correctly on his family. Dave’s situation was most unfortunate because he had some wonderful ideas about strengthening the organization. Hopefully, we can feed off some of those ideas.
One agenda item we will need to address is our board of directors. Because all our board members had served well beyond their three-year terms, we will need to build a new board. If anyone is interested in serving in that role, please submit your name/contact information to CAPT Jim Noone at [email protected]. If the Association is to flourish and be a substantive organization, having a vibrant board is vitally important.
I look forward to once again representing the USNPAA. I appreciate your support.
