The Passing of CAPT Ralph Blanchard, USN (Ret.)
Jim Nemer has informed us of the passing of CAPT Ralph Blanchard. Ralph passed away this past December at his home in Colorado. Ralph lived a full life, passing away after 96 years. He was a USNPAA plank owner, joining in 1994.
Ralph was the consummate communications professional. I personally remember him in his role as the Director of Defense Information where he commanded the respect of all those who worked with him, including the Pentagon press corps.
After his very vibrant Navy career, he continued to hold the military close to his heart as he worked at the YMCA where he supported military families.
Ralph leaves his wife, Jan, and their two children, Will and Beth, and four grandchildren.
